Forming An Opportunity Belief

4A Beginning Point: After revisiting my big list, I think an opportunity exists to fix drying machines. Sometimes, when I run the dryer, I forget to clean the lint out of the dryer, which causes my clothes to be somewhat damp after the dryer buzzes. This causes me to rerun the dryer, which raises utility expenses at my apartment. The unmet need for this problem would be for the dryer to indicate whether or not the lint has been cleaned. Everyone with a dryer would most likely have this need. This need has always existed, and always bugged me. The opportunity probably exists for 80% of people who own or even use dryers. Prototypical customer: The prototypical customer would be anyone who owns or even uses a drying machine. 3A When I was a junior in high school, my uncle, aunt, and cousins went to Jamaica. While in Jamaica, my aunt hurt her knee. She injured it so severely that she needed surgery, but little did they know, the hospital didn’t have enough materials to conduct the operation. When they came back from vacation, my cousins and I discussed with my grandparents and my uncle the unfortunate situation. I was heartbroken to hear that the hospitals in Jamaica don’t have enough supplies. My cousins and I then came up with an idea to fundraise money to buy hospital equipment so that the hospitals in Jamaica would have the supplies to help the injured or sick natives. Hence, Susie’s Knee was born. Susie’s Knee is a company started mostly by my cousins, but I contributed some ideas. Since my cousins were passionate about soccer they have played since they were children, we decided to host soccer tournaments and use the money we would gain and donate it to the hospitals in Jamaica!
