Bug List

2A

1.     The bus transportation app (Rider) glitches all the time which causes me to be late to class sometimes.
a.     Why: Too many people are using the app at the same time and it crashes.
2.     My feet are always cold when I’m at home.
a.     Why: My roommates like to keep the air conditioner in my apartment pretty cold.
3.     My room is cold.
a.     Why: The weather outside is freezing, and my blankets are not warm enough.
4.     The window in my room is producing mold.
a.     Why: The weather changes from hot to cold from week to week around this time of year and my window starts producing condensation.
5.     Lose keys
a.     Why: Unlike my phone, I am not always holding my keys, therefore I don’t always know where they are.
6.     I get annoyed when I go to the gym and I realize I forgot to charge my air pods, and now I have no music to listen to while I work out.
a.     Why: There is no indication on the outside or through the case that my air pods are charged.
7.     The other day I moved my credit card from my phone wallet to my actual wallet and then proceeded to forget my wallet at home.
a.     Why: Normally, my cards are on the back of my phone but I decided to change it.
8.     I went to class and opened my laptop and realized it was dead and ran out of battery.
a.     Why: I forgot to charge it that night when I went to sleep.
9.     I get annoyed when I remember to clean my water bottle.
a.     Why: the bottle has a narrow opening and I can’t fit my hand in there to clean it, and a bottle sponge doesn’t work because it is too short.
10.  After I step out of a long, hot shower, I can’t see anything because there is too much smoke from the heat from the water.
a.     Why: The ventilation in my bathroom is not so good.

a.     Why: I was thinking of things I had to do tomorrow and didn’t remember to grab it.
12.  When clothes get wrinkled if you forget to fold them after you dry them.
a.     Why: the clothes are warm and very easy to get wrinkled when left.

a.     Why: There is not an automatic way of unlocking my door.
14.  I get annoyed when I forget to plug my charger into the wall or it unplugs because I pulled too hard.
a.     Why: The connection to the wall is loose or the cord is too short.
15.  When I am grocery shopping and can’t remember what I have in my fridge.
a.     Why: I don’t write a list of things I need to buy, or when I do I never fail to forget to add last-minute things.
16.   The phone doesn’t connect to Bluetooth right away
a.     Why: connection isn’t very strong, or there are multiple devices that could potentially connect.
17.  I hate that my hair takes forever to dry after showering because I know that sleeping with wet hair gives me a headache.
a.     Why: My hair is really thick.
18.  When my friend is driving her car and she wants to know which gas stations are close by, she had mentioned it would also be a good idea to know which gas stations had the longest lines.
a.     Why: especially, when gas is cheap, there are long lines and some cars can’t wait to get gas.
19.  Even though I use google photos, I still run out of space on my phone which can get annoying.
a.     Why: I take a lot of pictures and keep almost all of them.
20.  This winter break I was getting my hair dyed and my mom was calling me, but I didn’t know because I couldn’t check my phone.
a.     Why: I couldn’t see through the hair apron.

Reflection: In the beginning, I thought this assignment would be easy. After starting to think of bugs and things that annoy me throughout the day, I noticed that I would always realize that most of my bugs were easily fixed, so I disregarded writing them down. I realized that most of these bugs are things I’ve gotten used to and they don’t bug me anymore. It would be helpful if I could find some solutions to my bugs though.

  1. Hi! I really enjoyed your post, and I related to almost all of them. I even had some of them on my own bug list too, like forgetting to charge my Airpods when I've already gotten to the gym or getting to class and realizing your laptop is going to be dead for the entire period. Those sound like such first world problems when I say them out loud like this, but they really are just the worst. I also agreed with a part of your reflection when you said you realized that a lot of your bugs could be solved by yourself making changes. I realized the same thing after typing out all of my bugs, which is why I made sure my laptop was charging last night so it would be ready for class today. :) Great job!!!

  2. Hey Deborah,
Many of the bugs you listed definitely also happen to me on a daily basis. The most annoying bug on this list to me is definitely my phone not connecting to Bluetooth. Almost every time I try to connect my phone I either have to restart the phone or the device I am connecting it to which is a headache. Like you, I also thought this assignment would be easy at first, but after listing about 10 bugs I hit a road block. You definitely figure more out about what annoys you by simply strolling through your daily life.
