Idea Napkin No.2

19A
  1. I am a third-year majoring in Advertisement. I am a passionate web designer and social media manager. I have created a few websites for organizations and university clubs, I enjoy the designing factor of them. I am also a brand ambassador for LULA (a car-sharing app) and Tommy Hilfiger. When I have free time, you can usually find me at the gym. After the gym, I throw my dirty laundry in the washer and dryer, which leads me to my invention of the LED indicator on the drying machine. I could definitely see myself using my invention daily.
  2. What I am offering my customers: a new easy way to dry their clothes. The idea of Lint lights is to attach an LED indicator so that an individual about to run the dryer would know if they need to check the dryer lint catcher before starting the dryer.
  3. Who am I offering it to: busy individuals, especially, college students that live off-campus, or working parents.
  4. Why they care: Since my targeted audience is always busy, this invention is perfect for them. These working moms, dads, and students don’t have time to rerun their dryer. The LED indicator will be an ideal invention for them. This could also save these individuals money and help out people with their utility bills.
  5. Most dryers don’t have indicators or LED indicators, so I think this invention would be a good idea. Also, my idea consists of an app that works with both the washer and dryer so an individual can easily control the machines.
I think that these elements go together because it is essential to realize the answers to these questions to make sure every part of the problem is fixed and would be used by the public. My invention would save individuals time and money. I think this idea is original and the app is a great addition.

Feedback memo:
The feedback I received was not very constructive, but it did help me realize that I am thinking in the right direction. After rereading my past idea napkin I realized that I should expand on some of the questions in greater detail. All of my peers thought this was an effective and useful invention, and realized how they could incorporate it into their everyday lives too.

  1. Deborah,
I really do enjoy how in-depth you went here into the market for this product. I think you did a fantastic job telling about yourself and an equally good job describing the target market of your product. I only have one question about your product based on this post - why do you have an app related to your product? I am still quite confused as to the app's purpose in conjunction with your product.
Other than that, great job and I can't wait to see more of you and your idea!
    Respectfully, Maeghan Solanki

  2. Hi Deborah,
I am still a big fan of your product, and I think you have constructed it well. By expanding on the questions I think you will get a better understanding of what you want for the product and how to strategize properly. Your idea of saving time is great and raises a convincing argument, but I'm not sure how it could save money so maybe you could try marketing that feature better. Good job!
