Reading Reflection No.1
13A
When reading Walter Isaacson’s book, Steve Jobs, I was surprised by many things, his childhood and upbringing such as the fact the he was adopted and that his blood parents never went to college. I was also surprised at the fact that Apple had actually fired him at first, but then rehired him.
I mostly admired Steve Job’s tenacity, grit and dedication to continue his goal. Him being fired from Apple or bringing up Apple in his garage is very impressive. I did not admire how Steve Jobs was very dismissive to others, such as Steve Wozniak.
Yes, Steve jobs did encounter adversity and failure, since he was young. Jobs kept moving and never let anything stop him. He was very in touch with his determination to reach his goal.
Some competencies I noticed about Steve Jobs was that he was very passionate in what he did, he always believed in himself even from the start. I was confused why Steve Jobs had fired Wozniak.
Questions:
Why did you decide to start a company like Apple?
Why did you not focus on Pixar more?
I think Steve Jobs thought hard work was everything. He built a very famous and continually growing company using hard work and grit.
Hi! I really enjoyed your post. I did not know that Steve Jobs was adopted or that he was fired and then rehired. That's very interesting and makes me want to watch the Steve Jobs movie that came out recently! I also didn't know that he was ever involved in Pixar at one point, so I would be interested in hearing his answer to that Pixar question. I'm sure it was an interesting book considering all of the things that Steve Jobs has accomplished and how much of an icon he has become today.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI was also very surprised to hear that Steve was adopted because you would think that would be mentioned within all of his fame for bringing Apple to life. I think my two least favorite concepts about Steve were that he left Wozniak in the dust and also treats his co workers very poorly. In addition, I also wondered why Steve did not focus on Pixar more than Apple because at the time Pixar seemed more promising, but soon enough Steve brought us the world's most famous device.
