Reading Reflection No.2
21A
I chose to read “Art of Social Media” because I have always been interested in Social Media and wanted to learn more about how to expand my audience and their interactions.
1) What was the general theme or argument of the book?
The general theme or argument of the book was to show readers how to increase social media presence and gain potential investors.
2) How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003?
The book, in my opinion, connected with ENT 3003 by talking about our position and how we want others to perceive us and deal with us from a professional standpoint and how to advertise ourselves and our products.
3) If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise involve?
Based on the book I read, the exercise I would design for this class is to post about their inventions on twitter and try to gain traction knowing information from both the class and the book.
4) What was your biggest surprise or 'aha' moment when reading the book? In other words, what did you learn that differed most from your expectations?
I think the biggest “aha” moment for me from this book was when I found out how many steps it takes to take care of a social media account, I didn’t realize how much planning and work goes into it.
Deborah,
ReplyDeleteWhile I do appreciate your point for the fifth question, I think that you could have added some more detail to it. If social media is such an important thing for you personally to learn, I think that I would want to learn something about it, too. However, it seems that some of your points are lacking the wisdom that you gleaned from the book, and the wisdom that you would hopefully be trying to transfer to the reader.
I do not mean to say that I do not think you read the book, but rather, I do not think you put as much effort into this post as you could have. Sadly, I really thought this book would be interesting, but chose another book instead. For that reason, I particularly wanted to hear more about it, and I do not think your post really offered much of the book.
Respectfully, Maeghan Solanki
Hey Deborah,
ReplyDeleteIn todays world, no matter how hard one tries to avoid it, you can't deny that social media is a huge commitment and necessity for any incoming start-up business. For myself, I am constantly using social media to gain recognition and customers for my commercial fishing and charter business. In fact, most of my connections within that business have been formed through many interactions on Facebook and Instagram. There is tons of planning and work that goes into running and maintaining an account.
